Do my readers need a separate account?

No. They sign in with the Shopify customer account they use in your store. New customers get a WordPress user automatically, and existing WordPress users can link theirs. RedeemID never sees their Shopify password.

What does RedeemID copy from Shopify?

The customer’s name, email, account status, and tags, kept on their WordPress user. WordPress’s personal data tools can export and erase it.

Does RedeemID tag my customers?

No. Shopify Flow, or a subscription or membership app, adds and removes tags. RedeemID reads the tags Shopify already has.

What happens when a customer cancels or gets a refund?

Whatever your Shopify setup does to their tags. If Flow removes the tag, access ends once Shopify reports the change or the customer is resynced. RedeemID does not look at orders or refunds itself.

How quickly does access change?

The account is copied when the customer signs in and again when Shopify sends a customer update. Staff and customers can resync on demand. There is no scheduled sync.

What happens when I disable a customer in Shopify?

They lose members-only access once Shopify reports it, whatever their tags say.

Can I grant access from WordPress?

Only through the account in Shopify. Staff can edit a customer’s tags from RedeemID’s admin screens, and the change is written to Shopify first. WordPress never holds access that Shopify does not know about.

Does it take payments?

No. Your Shopify store handles checkout, subscriptions, and billing.

What happens if I turn the plugin off?

Your protected content is no longer protected, as with any WordPress paywall.
