About RedeemID

A free WordPress plugin from Vinny S. Green, LLC, developed in the open.

What it is

RedeemID lets customers sign in to a WordPress site with their Shopify customer account, mirrors that account on their WordPress user, and opens the site to what it holds: its tags and its status. Shopify runs the store, the checkout and the billing. WordPress runs the content. RedeemID connects the two without a second member database. How it works has the detail.

Who makes it

RedeemID, this site and its demo belong to Vinny S. Green, LLC. RedeemID is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by the WordPress Foundation or Shopify Inc.

How it is run

  • Free. The plugin is licensed GPL-2.0-or-later, with no paid version and no feature held back. Paid work is services only. See Pricing.
  • In the open. The plugin, this site and the demo theme are public repositories on GitHub, and every release is published there with its changes. See the Changelog.
  • Shopify first. Shopify is the record for every customer and every grant. WordPress never holds access that Shopify doesn’t know about.

Where it stands

RedeemID is in early development, and breaking changes are expected before 1.0.0. The project is looking for sponsors and for its first stores and publishers. See Sponsors and first stores.

RedeemID is still being built

RedeemID is a WordPress plugin that lets customers sign in with their Shopify account and opens your site to what that account holds. It is in early development, so parts of this site are unfinished and details will change.

It is coming soon. We are looking for sponsors and for the first stores and publishers to use it.
