Changelog

RedeemID is in early development: expect breaking changes before 1.0.0.

0.0.3, 30 October 2026

  • Shopify Product and Shopify Collection blocks, and product and collection pages, so a site can show the catalog without Shopify’s WordPress plugin. See Products, collections and the cart.
  • A cart held on the server, with a cart page and checkout in Shopify.
  • A Shopify menu in the admin bar for staff.
  • Every privacy request handled in WordPress’s Tools → Export and Erase Personal Data, with Shopify’s privacy webhooks feeding the same requests and an opt-in request for Shopify to erase the customer. See Privacy.

0.0.2, 30 October 2026

  • A step-by-step setup wizard under RedeemID → Setup.
  • Read-only RedeemID abilities for the WordPress Abilities API and MCP. See Abilities and AI agents.
  • Accessibility fixes in the member-facing blocks and the admin screens.
  • Account status comes from Shopify’s disable and enable notices, not from the customer state field that new customer accounts don’t keep, and every personal page is sent with Cache-Control: private.
  • Profile and status webhooks that arrive out of order are ignored instead of overwriting newer data.
  • Reports count features gained and lost, and list customer tags that no level or feature uses.
  • Protected files answer byte-range requests, so audio and video can seek and downloads resume.
  • The buy-now rate limit is keyed on the visitor address the plugin trusts.

0.0.1, 29 October 2026

The first release, and the first with a downloadable redeemid-core.zip.

  • Sign-in with the Shopify customer account, linked to a WordPress user, with the account’s name, email, status and tags mirrored on it.
  • Access levels, the Membership Gate block, a paywall break, and access rules on posts, terms and post types, with an Access Test tab and a WP-CLI explain command.
  • Features unlocked by the same tags, such as ad-free reading.
  • Plan cards with buy-now, and a signed-in meter.
  • Protected files, and a read API for themes and other plugins.
  • Webhook health, a paced bulk resync that staff start by hand, and staff tools for members.
  • Settings in wp-admin with secrets encrypted, wp-config constants still winning, and settings transfer between sites.

Each release on GitHub has the redeemid-core.zip to upload in Plugins → Add New, and the pull requests that went into it.

RedeemID is still being built

RedeemID is a WordPress plugin that lets customers sign in with their Shopify account and opens your site to what that account holds. It is in early development, so parts of this site are unfinished and details will change.

It is coming soon. We are looking for sponsors and for the first stores and publishers to use it.
